Needle Felting

Come spend a cozy hour learning the simple craft of needle felting! With just wool and a felting needle you can create a beautiful 2-D Picture. In this workshop for ages 9 and up, you will have the option to needle felt a small object or an image. And with your new found skills, you will be able to continue this easy but beautiful craft at home. Taught by awesome artists from an activity packed local art studio - Art House 7.

Gel Plate Printmaking

Discover the exciting and spontaneous world of gel plate printmaking in this fun, hands-on workshop! Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, this workshop will introduce you to the playful and expressive world of monoprinting using gel plates, acrylic paints, and a variety of textures and tools. We will teach the simple steps of how to print images with a gel plate and play with layered images. Come ready to experiment, get a little messy, and leave with a one-of-a-kind print. Taught by awesome artists from an activity packed local art studio - Art House 7.

Tetra Pak Printmaking
Teacher: Miki Nishida Goerdt
Let’s have fun with printmaking art! In this workshop, participants will create an original Intaglio print out of Tera-pak and a non-toxic, soy-based ink. Tetra–Pak is a type of food package (e.g. juice pack, milk carton) that can be upcycled and used as an etching plate. No prior printmaking experience is required. Limited to 10 participants at a time. Ages 12 and up.

Spice Blending 101
Teacher: Eddie Gonzalez
Join Eddie Gonzalez, Owner and Spice Blender of Apothecary Spices, as he walks participants through a discussion of flavors using every day ingredients and how those ingredients combine to make different taste combinations. Participants will explore the different spices that make up some of Apothecary Spices' more popular spice blends, and get to sample an assortment of spices to make their own custom blends to take home. (Vegetable snacks will be served as part of the taste testing.) All ages.

Upcycled Art
Teacher: Gillian Stern
Participants will create a work of art using upcycled materials. Artists will be encouraged to use found items such as used packaging, recycling objects, and discarded items that would otherwise be thrown in the trash. They can use these items in any way they wish and incorporate supporting materials like glue and paint to create their piece. There are NO RULES for this workshop, it is designed to promote freedom of expression and to work with the materials in any way that inspires them.

During this “Common Ground” pottery workshop participants will be guided through shaping clay into tiles as well as decorating the tiles. Participants are invited to include their personal stories, cultural heritage, and shared values of the community in their pieces. All ages.

Candle Making

Welcome the early signs of spring with a relaxing “Bloom & Glow” candle-making workshop! In this hands-on class, you’ll create your own mini soy candle in a fresh, seasonal scent while learning simple, beginner-friendly pouring techniques. It’s a light, joyful way to connect with neighbors and take home a little glow of spring.

Jewelry Making
Teacher: Lisette Bez
Participants will learn the basics of jewelry design, including wire wrapping, selecting materials, and assembling a wearable piece such as earrings/ necklaces. All materials are included. This class serves as an excellent introduction to the fundamentals of jewelry making.

It’s the party game of drawing destruction, and we want you to play with us!
