What is Look?

Art builds community . . . help us transform a vacant commercial building into a fun, inventive, and interactive POP-UP art space. Over three weekends, the reinvented space will host art exhibits, performances, and hands-on workshops and classes.

Look: An Unexpected Arts Experience is only possible because LBA is one of Arlington Arts Creative Placemaking Grant recipients.

The goal of the Creative Placemaking grant opportunity is to fund distinctive and impactful arts and culture projects that have the potential to attract people to Arlington’s commercial areas, encouraging meaningful interactions with residents, workers, and visitors.

By creating or activating spaces for shared arts and cultural experiences, the project will foster a deeper connection to the community, encouraging a sense of belonging and pride in Arlington, and strengthen the arts ecosystem. These projects will facilitate engagement across cultures, create a welcoming environment for all and consider youth well-being.

Look is a pilot project intended to build a framework for partnering the arts community with underutilized commercial real estate.  If we knock it out of the park, we can grow the concept into future pop gallery experiences!

Thank you to the Arlington County Board, Arlington Economic Development, Arlington Arts, and the Arlington Arts Commission for allowing LBA to bring this crazy idea to life!

We would like to give a very special thank you to our Patron Sponsors: Rooney Properties and Amazon.

Partner Arts Organizations

We would like to give a very special thanks to our partner arts organizations Encore Stage, Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour (AVAST) and Arlington Artists Alliance for collaborating on ideas and for providing expertise and on-the-ground resources! We couldn’t do this without you.
